Application scenarios of three-phase inverters for hydropower

1. Small/micro hydropower stations connected to the grid for power generation
Small hydropower units in mountainous areas and micro hydropower units in rural areas, with generators outputting fluctuating AC power according to changes in water head and flow rate.
Processed into standard three-phase 380V/400V power frequency through a three-phase inverter, safely connected to the public power grid;
Equipped with anti islanding and overvoltage/overclocking protection, meeting grid connection standards;
Upgrading and renovating old small hydropower stations to improve the power quality of existing units, reduce harmonics, and increase power generation revenue.
2. Off grid independent power supply in remote mountainous areas (areas without public networks)
Mountainous villages, forest farms, mines, and field engineering sites are not covered by the national power grid.
Off grid mode V/F constant voltage and frequency output, directly driving three-phase loads such as water pumps, fans, and processing equipment;
Built in load relief control, automatically consumes excess hydroelectric power when the load is low, protecting the water turbine unit;
Resolve power fluctuations during dry and wet seasons to ensure stable power supply for local equipment.
3. Hybrid microgrid system of hydropower and energy storage
Combining small hydropower with battery energy storage to build an independent microgrid.
When there is sufficient water for power generation, excess electricity is stored in the battery; Insufficient water flow during the dry season, battery power replenishment;
The inverter coordinates the hydro generator and energy storage system to achieve seamless switching between grid connected and off grid;
Suitable for comprehensive energy projects in border villages, isolated islands, and wilderness bases.
4. On site power supply for water conservancy supporting projects
Water diversion projects, reservoir pumping stations, and irrigation facilities in mountainous areas.
Utilize channels and streams for micro hydroelectric power generation to supply power to pump station motors, gate control, and on-site monitoring equipment;
On site power generation and use, eliminating the need for long-distance high-voltage wiring.
5. Export application of overseas small hydropower projects
Micro hydropower development in mountainous areas of developing countries.
Can adapt to different national output standards (380V-415V, 50Hz/60Hz);
Wide input tolerance, suitable for water turbine generators with low head and large flow fluctuations;
Supports RS485 and remote monitoring for convenient remote operation and maintenance.
